Dayton would much rather just live outside than be bothered with
things like going home. Here, he of course took the longest and most
arduous path to the car.

Dayton has a very gentle nature when it comes to babies and animals.
He's also very curious about both.

Drive in Movie

We are at the movies watching David and Goliath for our primary
activity. On Sunday when the primary sang, Sydney was very brave
and went up for the first time. I was suprised to see her singing
some of the words too. Miracles never cease. :-)

Boys and Hair Ties

What would a boy want with hair ties? Warrior bands. :-)

Projects, Projects, Projects

Sydney and all her cutting and taping everywhere, reminds me of
Grandma Bobbie. Dave said we should send her down for a week to cut
out recipes with Grandma. Call us mom and we'll put it on the
calendar. You can imagine how much help she could be!!!

Grandpa's a Good Sport

Even though it was windy and very chilly, Grandpa Jackson still took
us to see the ice sculptures, and narrated to the kids what each one
was. This particular one was one of Jesus and Pilot.

Fur Rondy

Back in the mid-1930's, Fur Rondy began when the trappers would gather
in the small town of Anchorage, Alaska, population 3,000, to celebrate
their successes and trade their furs. Each year, new celebrations
were added making this a now, two week long celebration of festivities
that include dog sled racing and rides, as seen above with Dayton,
Sydney, I (Trina), and my mother, Bobbie, parades, blanket tossing,
native Alaskan dancing, carnivals, plays about mining and trapping in
the ol' days, car racing, evening balls, and others. The Iditarod, a
long and trecherous dog sled race also begins near the end of the
festivities. This was , I think, the first time I've ridden in a dog
sled. It was suprisingly very smooth.

Sanity is definitely more expensive

Expensive vs Messy

I'm finding that my kids' favorite toys are not the most expensive,
just the most messy, however, one could argue that sanity can be quite
expensive. :-)

Paper Route

Dayton, Sydney and I sometimes acccompany dave on his paper route.
The kids love to help stack the papers in the morning but are a little
bit shy of all the interesting people we see :-). 2 a.m. brings out
the best in us all. It reminds me of the dating days when we would do
anything to hang out just a little bit more each day. Love you
sweetheart.

Paper Route

Dayton, Sydney and I go every once in a while to help Dave with his
paper route. The kids love to help put the papers in the buckets and
cart. It's fun doing it all together. We get more time doing this
together than the whole week combined.
