Who knew diapers could be so funny
As it gets later, Daemon can sometimes get a little punchy and giggly. If I remember right, it took me quite a while to get this little giggly guy to bed after this.
The Dahl family
Oglig, the wife and Mother in this photo, has become a dear friend of mine. I also love her children. While in nursery one time, some of the smaller children enjoyed picking through my hair, like little monkeys grooming eachother. I absolutely loved it. The color and texture must be interesting to them. They also LOVE baby Daemon. Each of them beg to hold him, even the one year old. Gratefully, Daemon is very patient since having to put up with being smothered by his brother Dayton. :)
The Dahls are a very warm and friendly family. I love them very much.

Santa #2
This Santa came to our ward party and his beard was much longer. It was agreed upon by the kids that this was the 'real' Santa.
We saw Santa today
Sydney and Dayton had a lengthy discussion as to wether or not he was the real one. It was hard to say.
He's growing up fast
Every few Days I notice the small milestones for Daemon. He's gone all the way from grabbing onto a toy to being able to stand in this chair, circle around, and put toys in his mouth. They grow so fast. Next thing we know we'll be sending him off to college. He's a lot of work but so much fun and so worth the effort.

Best extended family in the world
Our uncle Martin sent Sydney and Dayton a package of candy and a card with money in it. We went to Costco and let the kids pick out what they wanted and here's what they got.
Daemon and Sydney's baby doll
Sydney got a new baby doll from uncle Martin today and she was very sweet to let Daemon play with it, or rather eat it. She eventually got a different baby for him to chew on. :)
Our anti-snuggler snuggles in
After being outside with the boys while shoveling snow, Daemon, for the first time since he was a newborn, put his head on my shoulder and immediately fell asleep. Apparently being in the fresh air completely wore him out. It felt so warm. He's not known as the 'snuggler' in our family, that title is reserved for Dayton, he's more like the marathon runner. So Dave just kept saying, 'soak it up'. And that's just what I did. :)
Daemon apparently loves being outside
He never made a single peep the entire time or even wiggled, according to Dave. He was so cute all bundled up and looked like he had a great time. So far the cold doesn't seem to bother him.

Day Night
We finally made it to an Aces game. This is one of Dave's favorite date nights. Baby even survived with out us. Happy times. In my next life I'd like to have date night twice a week with free babysitting. :)
Funny witches
I have yet to witness Daemon do something really cute and then capture it on video. He always finishes the giggles, the sounds, or the expressions right when I get the camera out. But I wanted to at least remember this cute experience with Daemon.
Fun find at Kid to Kid
For anyone who's ever witnessed Dayton on his bike, this was not only a fun find, it was also a necessary find. Especially since we went to the fair and saw 'real' BMX boys doing tricks.

Batting at toys for the first time
Go Daemon!!! I still remember the day that Sydney did this as a baby too. :) It's so fun to see our kids reaching milestones. We love you soooooo much and are so glad that you've come to join life's journey with us Daemon.
Love you,
Mom, Dad, Sydney and Dayton

Heaven for Daddy
They fell asleep together. Since daddy LOVES to snuggle more than anything, this is simply heaven for him. :)

Dave is so smart...
We were half way done when Dave found this cool squeeje (sp?). Loved it. But my thighs were still sore the next day from bending down. How sad is that?

Sydney is a good big sister.
She loves to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to put baby to sleep. :). She even kissed baby on the lips the other day. :)

Six days old
I had wanted to go to Fiddle Dee Dee with Sydney and Dayton and somehow we finally made it with Daemon in tow. Fiddle Dee Dee is music at the [downtown] park for kids.
Grandma and Grandpa bring the kids back after a 5 day reprieve
I got a little too used to not having any kids at home. It was like a whirlwind when they returned. However, I'm so glad they took them. I almost felt guilty getting to spend time doing nothing but be with Dave and just enjoy baby since I'm usually being pulled in several directions by my 4 and 5 year old.
Yes, we took him to an air show at 5 days old
But I left as soon as it got too loud. I was still walking a little slow but it was fun to be out with just Dave and baby.

Our New Arrival
Baby Daemon finally made it - and I am so in love with him. I feel like a first time mom all over again. Everything seems so new and is so exciting. I love to hold him, kiss him, look at him, rub his back and legs, snuggle him and feed him. He's a little piece of heaven sent down to our family. I feel like the luckiest girl on the planet today. My excitement tops even the best Christmas memories from my childhood. Thank you for all the phone calls, emails, and babysitting. I just wanted to share our happy moment with you. We'll be posting more photos soon.
Sincerely,
Trina

'Hanging Out'
Both downtown as well as my belly. :) July 15, 2010. We first went to music at the park and enjoyed some folk music, tag and tree climbing - then took a walk just to enjoy the synergy and beauty of 4th ave. I love Dave's new night job which makes him more available during the day.
Library trip with Dad
What a fiasco. $20 fine, mom forgot her library card, I.D. left in car, and a basketful of books and movies we can't bring home. Not Dave's idea of fun, but he tried to have a good attitude and Sydney was in heaven showing Dad the children's area and how we check out books for the first time.

Our Families First Lost Tooth
Sydney bit into an apple today at age 5 1/2 and told me she thought she had a loose tooth. I didn't really believe her at first. :) But sure enough, it was loose. She sat and wiggled it till it came out. I thought she would be scared but she did great. She was a little worried about how to sleep at night with a wiggly tooth but I assured her she would do fine. I think that was her incentive to get it out. That and getting money from the tooth ferry. Surprise - surprise.

Summer of Face Paint
I can't count how many times Sydney and Dayton have had their faces painted this year between the Alaska Airlines party, the weekly Government Hill neighborhood Bar-B-Qs, and the Mountain View Festival today, all complimentary. :-) (That happens to be my favorite part). I've become a magnet for finding 'Complimentary' (as I like to call them, as nothing is truly free) festivities here in Anchorage. Dave thinks that all we do is go from one party to the next. He's partly right.

Spending time with Family over the weekend
Dave needed to do a small photo shoot in Soldotna over the weekend so we decided to turn it into a family trip to see cousins and grandparents. We had a great time. We camped, Dayton kayaked, the kids both rode bikes with cousins, Dayton went 4-wheeling with his Dad, thanks to the Meyers, Dave and I watched King Kong, ate lots of yummy food and spent lots of relaxing time visiting with my parents, two sisters, their spouses and kids. It was better than Disney Land. Slideshow to come soon!
