Shrek, 3D

Passing it on

For many years I wondered if my domestic skills would resemble
anything of that of my mom and grandmothers, but today, I was excited
to see that I'm finally getting the hang of a few things. I soaked
some food storage beans over night and made pork and beans with dried
carrots and onions (all from the cannery). It was even edible. :) I
also roasted a 20 lb turkey and a 20 lb ham to put into my freezer.
This is me ('HELLO') making stock, just like I remember seeing my mom
and grandmothers do. There may be some hope for Sydney after all. :)

Making themselves right at home

This is Grandpa Jackson's hotel room here in Anchorage while getting
off work for the last time and heading to meet Grandma in TX. After
swimming with Daddy and Grandpa, they had no problems making
themselves right at home, by crawling into his bed with the hopes that
they would get to watch some cartoons. Grandpa was very generous and
took us out to eat afterwards too. What a treat.

Throwing Snowballs

One day before Dave and I were dating, I walked out of the institute
building, and Dave, coming behind me, threw a snowball at me. It was
one of the first times I felt that little tingle inside for him.

Home made coursages

Tammy and I got together and made coursages for our hot dates.

Lion King

Tammy and Jeremy Rampton, dear friends of ours, doubled to Lion King
with us, and we had a great time.

Dayton likes to help too.

This processor is so old it weighs at least 15lbs. It's awesome. I
felt like a real woman shredding zucchini. I may not be able to keep
a house clean but I can shred vegetables in large quantities, like
nobodies business. What else really matters? What more can a man
ask for? Teeheehee!

Making zucchini bread

It's that season and this is the first time learning how to use my
food processor. Because it looks vintage, I wasn't sure if it would
work, but all was well. Sydney and Dayton are my little chefs. Syd
actually bit into a zucchini thinking it was fruit. Much better in
bread, I told her.

Photo's by Dave M. Davis Photography

A few fun photos from an early July '09 photo shoot. I think I got 'having my photo taken' out of my system, although, I want to do a photo shoot with the kids next time. None of just me. Thanks hunny for the personal photo shoot. :)

Trina's photo shoot

This photo (bottom) was doctored up on the computer with cool editing software Dave has for his business. The raw photo is on top to show the difference. Which style do you prefer?

Senior Photos at age 30 :)

When I was a senior in high school, I only got one picture taken of me and it was for the year book. Since then, I've always wanted to have my picture taken, where I get to choose the poses etc. The following are a few of my favorites that Dave did of me. If you haven't looked at Dave's website recently, you should take a look. davemdavis.com He's getting some great shots. Keep it up hunny.

The boots

Dayton is obsessed with boots. I remember my first pair. My mom
bought me a pair of water boots when I was about 5. They were glued
to my feet. My mom finally had to tell me to take them off because I
was ruining the floor.

Cactus

It took Dayton a while to learn about the 'ouch' factor when trying to
hold cactus.

We must have told the kids 100,000... times to stop climbing on
everything before the wedding started. It was to no avail. Boys will
be boys, and Sydney will be Sydney and they were all sooo cute.
